Role Purpose
As part of Marou's Marketing team, the Brand & Retail Playbook Intern supports the development of a comprehensive Brand Book and Retail Playbook to guide the brand's future international expansion. Working directly with the COO, the intern documents and structures Maison Marou's identity, customer experience, visual standards, storytelling, and retail operating standards. Consolidating knowledge from across the company into clear, reusable guidelines.
The role helps ensure brand consistency and operational excellence across future markets and touchpoints.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Book & Retail Playbook Support
- Support the development and maintenance of Maison Marou's Brand Book and Retail Playbook, under the direction of the COO.
- Document brand identity, customer experience, visual standards, and storytelling guidelines.
- Document retail operating standards (store operations, service standards, merchandising, and new-store-opening best practices) into clear SOPs and checklists.
- Structure information into clear, reusable, easy-to-navigate formats.
Cross-functional Knowledge Gathering
- Collect and consolidate brand and operational knowledge from cross-functional teams (marketing, design, retail, commercial, operations).
- Interview internal stakeholders, including store and operations staff, to capture tacit knowledge and current best practices.
- Coordinate inputs, track open items, and keep documentation up to date as the brand evolves.
Research & Benchmarking
- Conduct research and benchmarking on premium, luxury, hospitality, and lifestyle brands to support brand and retail development.
- Identify best practices in brand documentation, retail playbooks, customer experience, and international expansion frameworks.
Strategic Project Support
- Support strategic projects related to international brand and retail expansion, working closely with the COO.
- Draft presentations, guidelines, and decks for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the creative team on the visual layout and polish of final materials.
Minimum Requirements
- C1 level in English (strong written and verbal communication).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong ability to structure and document complex information clearly. Turning interviews, notes, and scattered inputs into organized, easy-to-navigate guidelines and SOPs.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams (marketing, design, retail, operations).
- Comfortable working directly with senior leadership and interviewing stakeholders across functions.
- Genuine interest in branding, storytelling, retail, and premium consumer brands.
Preferable Requirements
- Previous experience in marketing, brand management, communication, project management, technical/process documentation, knowledge management, consulting, or operations; any background involving structuring information into clear deliverables.
- Experience creating presentations, guidelines, reports, SOPs, or playbooks.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is a plus.
- French language skills are a plus.
- Experience in the food & beverage, hospitality, or luxury sectors is a plus.
